V Festival – 12 Days!
August 3, 2008
Yep, only 12 days until I get to see the greatest band ever at V Festival – Muse.
I’ve been a huge fan for ages, and I don’t know how i’m going to react when they come on, I might actually start giggling hysterically like a school girl!
It’s been quite some time since my last post, it’s been very hard to balance my blogs with a full time job, you may have noticed The Heroes Chronicles came online for about a month then rather quickly went down again, I just don’t have the time anymore. =(
I think it’s a turning point for me, just last year I was gearing up to go back to 6th Form, I dropped out after just two months. I spent a long time jobless until I finally got a job at the start of February, i’m training to draw building plans. And i’ll also be starting College again in September, and I think i’ve grown up and i’m ready to get my head down. Working hard isn’t foreign to me, I solely maintained The Heroes Chronicles for over a year which took a lot of effort, once I was working on it for about 10 hours in one day. But, alas, it is not so much a sustaining job, more a hobby, and now i’m doing well.
My driving test is this month on the 27th. Wish me luck!
On a side note, I got the whole X-Files collection yesterday, (All 9 seasons plus the first movie), for just £75 ($150). What a bargain!

Driving
May 11, 2008
I’ve been driving for about a month now, and this month I will be taking my theory test. I’m looking forward to it, I really have to start reading my highway code now, in addition to doing mock theory tests.
After that I reckon I will do about a couple of months more driving and then I should be ready to pass my practical test, can’t wait!

How Much?!
March 6, 2008
I read today that the world’s youngest billionaire is the guy who created Facebook.
He is just 23 and he already has a net worth of 1.5billion! (Can’t remember whether that was pounds or dollars, but still that’s a shit load!).
Then I started to think what I would do with that sort of money.
Then I came to realize that I will never have that much.
Damn.

Damn You GH3!!

I got Guitar Hero 3 for Christmas, completed it on medium and then proceeded to hard. So i’ve got three final songs before I battle Lou and **** I can’t do any of them. The furthest I can get is 92% on Metallica – One and i’ve done so many guitar smashes I think my guitar is starting to suffur. ;(
What is it about computer games? I don’t get this angry in real life!
I’m pretty sure there’s 2 more guitar hero games coming out this year, an Aerosmith one and Guitar Hero IV, although they may be the same game! I think I might just move onto them!
(*Edit – I completed Metallica a while back, got stuck on Slayer Raining Blood and gave up.) It’s not much of a bother to me, i’m not going to buy any of the new games, I think i’m coming to that point in life when I pack up the games consoles!) – 03/08/08 – 19:46

Hendrix
March 4, 2008
I’ve been listening to a lot of Hendrix recently, I really like him. What’s not to like really, he’s one of the greatest guitarists ever!
It’s basically reignited my want for a new guitar. I’m planning on getting one next month. If you follow my blog, which you dont, I took a liking to the Fender Toronado GT HH. Basically, that’s gone out of production. It’s a shame, it seemed a very nice guitar. I sent an e-mail to Fender asking if they had any lying around anywhere. They didn’t unfortunately, but I think i’ve found a website that still sells them. Let’s hope they still have them next month, fingers crossed. If they don’t have any, I think i’ll go for a Stratocaster.

No Country For Old Men (And Others)
March 2, 2008
What a movie! It’s got a strange ending, I thought i’d missed a bit, but really it’s a really good movie. Definitely worth a watch. I won’t tell you too much about it, you’ll have to just see. Another movie i’ve seen lately is Rambo. Best. Movie. Ever. It’s just a mans film and thats that! I could just watch that again and again.
I saw Be Kind Rewind yesterday. It’s not a bad movie, I don’t think it was high budget, but its got a nice little story to it.
Another film that I watched on DVD yesterday was Superbad. It’s one of my most favourite movies ever! It’s fantastic!
Definitely watch Superbad. Got a TONNE of swearing/sexual references in it. Absolute TONNE, But I love it!

World of Work
February 19, 2008
I got myself a job people! I work as a Draughtsman, I got the position that I was temping for. So i’ve been very busy recently as I have been devoting 8 hours a day to that. Also I am able to go to Austria! I’m going with my mate as it’s his birthday, so i’ll definitely tell you how that goes as it’s going to be awesome.
One other thing, I’m going to the V Festival this year definitely! There’s no stopping me, Muse are headlining, and they’re my favourite band. To see them would be legendary, and hopefully Matt Bellamy will give me his guitar… now harm in dreaming now is there?
I watched National Treasure: Book Of Secrets last week. It’s not too bad, but it’s a bit watered down for family viewing. Can’t beat a good movie on a Friday night though. On Sunday, I watched the whole of Series 3 of The Mighty Boosh, it’s a great random show. Future Sailor!!

Pinch Harmonics
January 17, 2008
I starting learning to play these yesterday on my guitar. I’m thinking about getting some guitar lessons. I learnt to play classical guitar for two years when I was in middle school then I stopped and picked it up again about four years ago when I bought an acoustic – then an electric. I have another electric guitar now, i’ve been teaching myself and i’m not bad, but i’d really like to be awesome at it, so yeah, some guitar lessons would be good I think.
So back onto the main thing, Pinch harmonics. I learnt natural harmonics (easy) and now i’ve moved onto pinch harmonics and I must say, it’s the hardest technique i’ve come up against.
I’m looking to get another guitar soon, an Ibanez. This one will have a whammy bar which is good, I can try some dive bomb harmonics.
I’ve been looking for flights to Austria recently, looking forward to that trip!

Cloverfield
January 15, 2008
I’m really looking forward to this movie. It’s very intriguing, it’s a monster movie, but there’s been no official word on what the monster is. Some believe it’s a new Godzilla movie, some believe it’s aliens. I thought to begin with it was an alien, but then after seeing a video about an oilrig disaster, it made me think more a sea creature, my mate said Kraken.
Also, because of the JJ Abrams link, some people think it’s a Lost spin off. I think that’s a bit out there, some thought Mission Impossible 3 was a Lost spin off too.
I’m gonna be checking this film out when it’s in the cinemas, i’d recommend you do too.

Working
January 15, 2008
I finally got myself a job – after about three months of doing nothing – i’ll be working as a trainee draftsman, drawing plans to buildings and stuff like that. It’s only temporary at the minute, they want to find out whether i’m right for the job. It should be good, if only just a couple of weeks, be a bit of money. Oh, that reminds me, i’m off to Austria in March. It’s my mates birthday and he asked me out there for snowboarding and stuff like that. It should be awesome!
A lot happened yesterday in particular, news wise. I’ll elaborate in due course.
Ooh, i’ll be getting a new guitar soon, after Austria, hopefully I can keep this job and then i’ll be quite stable financially for once!
